"Hello,
I am a volunteer EMT/Firefighter in a volunteer Fire Dept with limited resources. Hence I did not purchase the textbook for the DOT EMT refresher course. I found that the course contained valuable information. Even information repeated in later modules such as differences in pediatric versus adult airways is good reinforcement. I took notes for the first 2 tests before it became apparent that few test questions were from material presented in the modules. It is great that one can retake the tests until one passes, though I passed all tests the first time. Open book tests help one learn more. By researching test questions that were not from material presented in the modules one can learn twice as much. At first with the taking notes on everything presented I was sure I would be putting in more than the 24 hours the course claims it takes to complete. Now I believe that even with researching test questions before answering but without having to take notes that I could finish the course in close to 24 hours."

My first day of orientation is Tuesday and I start my training the following week. I am an EMT-I and I was very impressed with the information presented, especially the skills review because it really was geared towards my EMT-I cert.
